NBA Finals

Good Evening, (morning?)

As you may or may not know, the NBA finals start tonight. I'm sure that most of my followers out there probably read many other sports blogs and will read other "NBA finals" posts today. So ill try not to sound too redundant (big words!). This was, in my opinion, the best possible match up of all of the playoff teams this year. A rematch from the 2006 finals, the Dallas Mavericks hope to get revenge on the Miami Heat.  The Heat championship victory in 2006 didn't come without its turbulence.  Dwayne Wade had just ok performances in these two games but the Maverick defense and bench scoring led to a 2-0 series lead. The series headed back to Miami where the Heat, led by Wade, would win 3 straight games and force the series back to Dallas. Game 6 of the series was closely fought by both teams, but in the end the Miami Heat would win game 6 and take the championship.

The Mavericks are looking for revenge for their loss in the 2006 season. Mavs owner Mark Cuban criticized the NBA officials of calling "ghost" calls against Heat players in order to sway the game towards the Miami Heat.  Cuban received much criticism from the league over his comments and received a fine for his words. Cuban obviously doesn't like the Heat and is looking to make a bigger impact on the league by putting himself as one of the top owner/managers in the NBA.

My Prediction:
I really think that this series could go either way. I think that because the Heat have the home advantage in the series, that they will win the first two games and possibly take one from the Mavs in Dallas. I believe that the Heat will win in 6 games. But I would not be surprised if the Mavericks win in 6 or 7.

  3. I hate Lebron so much. I don't mean to offend anyone by saying this, but I think I hate him more than I ever hated Osama bin Laden.

  4. Not too heavily into sports but I definitely want the Heat to win. That's because I'm from 90 miles north of Miami and the only NBA games I've ever seen in person were Heat games.
